Warning: this article contains nuts, snacks and an Advent Calendar spoiler!

The time-honoured idiom of ‘food for thought’ simply refers to something that is worthy of consideration; to digest or ‘mull over’ an idea or piece of information. Ok, let’s spin it: how about we present a brand to really think about – and food to actually chew on?

The brand in question is KoRo, an innovative food brand from Berlin, that's simplifying the modern pantry. They offer a diverse, high-quality range – from unique nut butters and clean-label snacks to functional foods and pantry essentials. KoRo's main difference lies in their use of efficient bulk packs, which cuts down on packaging waste (on average 40% per 1 kg of product* – compared to conventional retail pack sizes).

But why are we talking about KoRo?

One drop, one snack at a time

Transparency, quality & less waste – that’s what connects waterdrop® and KoRo. And with this, KoRo makes up one of 25 doors in this year’s Advent Calendar Large. From smart design and honest ingredients, to clear pricing, waterdrop® and KoRo are here, challenging the status quo of both the food and beverage industries.

The product, unboxed

Each year, the waterdrop® Advent Calendar Large offers a trove of discovery with 25 surprises nestled behind exclusively designed doors – one of which this year is KoRo’s Organic Oat Bar Peanut Chocolate. Beyond its wrapper, each bar offers a moist, soft base of oat flakes, with small chocolate pieces and peanut crunch – it’s an homage to both ingredients from organic farming and the delectable pairing of chocolate and peanuts. Containing just 273 calories, each 60g bar makes for a considered snack or great start to the day as breakfast when paired with fruit. After-all, it’s an oat bar that has even more to say…

With sustainability a cornerstone of the brand’s guiding principles, a number of KoRo products, including the Organic Oat Bar Peanut Chocolate, have a respective ‘climate impact’ section that analyses the greenhouse gas emissions generated during its production phase. Collected and calculated by KoRo’s hardworking sustainability colleagues, these numbers share insight into emissions made throughout all major steps, including production and logistics.

We’re the same, but different

Beyond a difference in our products, there are similarities between our principles. In addition to challenging the conventions of each respective industry, a commitment to sustainability, packaging, and long-term aims that demonstrate positive impact are common ground for both waterdrop® and KoRo – and with this, makes KoRo and their Organic Oat Bar a welcome delight in our star of the season, the waterdrop® Advent Calendar Large 2025.
